The Star Hotel Southampton, Southampton

The hotel is in a convenient location in the historic city center, close to West Quay, making it ideal for various activities. Although the front room I stayed in had some noise due to old windows, which affected my sleep quality, I did expect some street noise given the high street location. The rooms come at an extra £10 per night, and unfortunately, the drainage issue led to an uncomfortable smell in the room.

I was boarding a cruise ship the following day and found the hotel to be nice with a comfy bed and a good shower. It was clean enough, but there was a terrible smell in the room. The window in the bathroom allowed dirt and weeds to get in when opened.

On the bright side, the receptionist was helpful in addressing the issue. Overall, it was one of the worst rooms we've encountered in this establishment.
